As semester 2 slowly eases into its full swing, I found that I had plenty of time to read and I am very happy with my day count! This month I was able to finish The Time Travelers Wife, a classic romantic novel with one of the main character jumping from one time era to another. For the most part, the book was fantastic, a just right book that I could escape into for some relax time. However, towards the middle, I found it hard to stay interested for it seemed that the story was dragging on. Overall, I gave it four stars, and I would recommended it for anyone looking for humorous, original, and unpredictable life journey of two very different individuals. Following this, I read Khaled Hosseini’s book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. This book was a real tearjerker, taking us through the  incredible life story of two Afghan women whos life unexpectedly intertwine and merge into a heartbreaking story of love, family, and friendship. I absolutely loved this book because Hosseini was able to capture the raw reality of what life was like in the war torn country. From beginning to the very last page, I was completely hooked, often finding it very hard to stop reading! I recommend this book to everyone! Believe me, you’ll love it! During this month, I also have two unfinished novels, one of which being 1984. This was more of a challenging read for me, with high vocabulary and a very critical approach to its narration. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the story line. Half way through, I decided to take a break and read And the Mountains Echoed, another one of Khaled Hosseini’s amazing books. I’ll update more about these two books for next month, once I have them completed. For next month, my goal is to finish reading the unfinished books of this month. I also want to read a harder level book, potentially The Color Purple and The Secrete Life of Bees.
